Maegan moved to Gainesville from Fort Myers, Florida in 2019, trading palms for oaks. Maegan has spent the last decade and a half leisurely exploring different mediums of art including digital collage, painting and poetry. In the past few years Maegan has had a wide range of jobs including floral designer, massage therapist and an afterschool reading teacher for 3rd and 4th grade. Maegan has recently decided to return to school to pursue a BA in Art Education and eventually work towards an MA in Art Therapy. In their art, Maegan often explores the dissonance between self-empowerment and self-commodification as well as the intersection of decolonization and self-identification.
